Hunting Almost every weekend of my childhood was spent either in the woods hunting or on a lake or pond fishing with my mom and dad and brother. This time spent with my family instilled in me a lifelong love of the outdoors. And it is that love of the outdoors that led me to a fishing profession and an avid hunting hobby that includes whitetail, dove, quail and ducks. As the host of Fishing and Hunting Texas, I am now getting to turn that hobby into something more, and I have thoroughly enjoyed filming hunting shows for Fishing and Hunting Texas with my brother and daughter. In addition to hunting at our family ranch, I also travel to Old Mexico every year with my brother and cousin in search of “Muy Grande.” There is really nothing that compares to the vastness of the country down there, and the thrill of knowing that the buck of every hunter’s dreams could appear at any moment. I’ve harvested a few nice bucks but am still waiting for “Muy Grande!” So as the fishing industry winds down every Fall, I count my blessings that I’m able to stay in the outdoors in pursuit of wildlife. And I thank my parents for the time they spent with me hunting and fishing, and the deep appreciation of the outdoors they instilled in me at a young age.
